The HTML Meta Tag

If you have a commercial website or even a non-commercial blog you probably want to maximize the possibilities that someone using a search engine will find what you publish. That is where the HTML meta tag can be helpful. Enclosed within the greater than and less than symbols the meta tag enables one to note keywords, a description of the webpage and the author's name.₁
